A Georgian summer banquet; inspired by historical works of art depicting food. This flamboyant supper was set in the beautiful 1776 Chandelier Room at Newcastle’s Assembly Rooms. Pulling together chefs from around the region and taking direct inspiration from the creative works of chef Marie-Antoine Carème and Hannah Glass, the evening featured a life sized meringue swan, sugar carvings, hogs heads, carved ham, raised pies and jelly dessert. The evening was the grand finale to weeklong festival dedicated to food & drink in the region.
